According to the Lam Dong provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, plans have been drawn up to maintain stable visitor flows during the temporary closure.

The airport currently handles 34-36 flights a day, serving more than 5,200 arriving and departing passengers. Over the nearly six-month suspension, around 960,000 passengers travelling to and from Lam Dong are projected to be affected.
Officials warned the shutdown could sharply reduce air arrivals, particularly mid- to high-end travellers, foreign visitors, MICE groups and tourists from distant provinces.
To sustain growth, Lam Dong will pivot towards road-based and regional markets, working with transport operators to run fixed coach and charter services, strengthen shuttle links from major cities to Dalat and streamline pick-up and drop-off during peak periods.
The province will target key markets including HCM City, the southeast, the south-central coast and the Central Highlands, while rolling out stimulus programmes and adapting tours to road travel, including packages linking nearby airports with onward transfers.
Accommodation providers and tourist sites are being encouraged to introduce promotional packages and discounts tailored to road travellers and to promote longer stays during the airport’s closure.
