On February 19, the third day of Tet, the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with Danang Port JSC and the Danang Port Border Guard, welcomed the cruise ship Seabourn Encore, operated by Tan Hong Travel.
The vessel docked at Tien Sa Port in Son Tra Ward carrying more than 1,000 people, including 580 tourists from Britain, France and the United States, and about 500 crew members.

The city welcomed the international cruise passengers with lion dances, gifts and displays of traditional Tet customs, including conical hats and boxes of banh chung and banh tet.
During their stay, visitors toured sites including the Cham Sculpture Museum, the Marble Mountains and Hoi An Ancient Town, underscoring Danang’s appeal as a culturally rich and welcoming destination.
Between February 16 and 22, Danang received several other international cruise ships, welcoming about 2,800 passengers from Italy, France, Britain and Spain on February 20 and expecting a further 650 European visitors on February 22.
Tan Van Vuong, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the Tet holiday recorded positive results in cruise arrivals, signalling a strong recovery and growth in the segment.
“In the coming time, the city will step up market promotion, enhance service quality and strengthen cooperation with cruise lines, ports and international travel firms to attract more vessels and passengers,” he added.
In 2025, Danang welcomed 47 cruise ships carrying 57,600 passengers, up 37.1 per cent year on year and 12 more calls than the previous year, driven by growth from Europe, the United States, Britain, Germany, Australia and China.
This year, cruise tourism is expected to maintain momentum, with the city projected to welcome 59 ships and more than 64,000 passengers, an increase of about 11 per cent compared with 2025.
