Vo Dung from Binh Chau Commune said his boat caught 10 tonnes of fish, including bonito, tuna, and mackerel, after a 22-day offshore trip. Each kilo of bonito is sold for VND40,000 to 80,000, while mackerel costs VND100,000 per kilo. Each crew member earns about VND10 million from the trip.

Fishing boats operating closer to shore also had a successful catch. At Tinh Ky Fish Port in Quang Ngai City, small boats returned with anchovies and mackerel after just one night at sea.
