According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, coastal localities from Vung Tau City to Ca Mau Province including those in Ho Chi Minh and Can Tho cities will face serious flooding between January 30 and February 2.
"On January 29, the highest tide levels reached 4.03 metres in Vung Tau," the centre said. "It's forecasted that tide levels would reach 4.1 - 4.15 metres on January 30 -31, potentially causing flooding in some coastal and estuary areas."
The tides will rise to its highest level from 1 am - 7 am and 2 pm - 10 pm.
Meanwhile, it is sunny and slightly cold in the region with lowest temperatures ranging from 20-23 degrees Celsius.
