
Erosion has impacted hundreds of beaches in Phuoc My Ward, encroaching on the pavement along Vo Nguyen Giap Street.

The waves have carved deep trenches, leading to the collapse of facilities and trees into the sea.

Many shops and kiosks have been damaged or even swept away by the erosion.

Shop and kiosk owners have had to relocate their businesses.


According to Nguyen Van Kim, a local business owner, strong waves have been eroding further inland over the past week. Residents have fortified the eroded areas with bamboo stakes and large sandbags, but their efforts have failed to protect the shops.

A similar situation has been reported at Man Thai Beach in Son Tra, where dozens of large coconut trees have been battered by powerful waves.

The tropical depression weakened from Storm Pabuk has brought rough seas to the Da Nang coastline over the past week.
