The Quy Nhon International Outdoor Lifestyle Fair (Q-Fair 2024) is set to be held in the southern central coastal province of Binh Dinh from 9-12 March.

Speaking at a press conference in Quy Nhon City on 28 February, Le Minh Thien, chairman of the Binh Dinh Timber and Forest Products Association (FPA Binh Dinh), announced that the event would take place over an area of 30,000 square metres at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square and Quy Nhon Beach.

"More than 100 enterprises from six countries and territories, including China, France, Spain, Malaysia, Taiwan, and host Vietnam, will showcase their outdoor furniture and lifestyle products at more than 1,000 booths," he said. "The fair will feature various activities, including a trade and export promotion conference for the wood and outdoor furniture industries, tours to wood processing plants in the area, and art and martial arts performances."

Luu Phuoc Loc, event organisers and director of Viforest Fair Company, said that 90 percent of the booths have been reserved and they expected to receive between 8,000 and 10,000 visitors. Thien added that Binh Dinh is known as an outdoor furniture hub and he hoped that the event, which will be Vietnam’s largest trade fair for outdoor living to date, will become an annual occurrence and help local firms promote and sell their products to international markets.

"We expect such events to contribute to Vietnam’s wood industry and enable it to achieve its target of 20 billion US dollars and Binh Dinh’s target of 2 billion US dollars from timber product exports by 2030," he said.

At the press conference, Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said the fair was a milestone in promoting the development of the wood industry.

"With export revenues of 1 billion US dollars in 2023, the wood industry has continued to be a key industry in the province," he said. "We will continue to create favourable conditions for the industry to overcome their difficulties and further develop."
