According to Hoang Thi Vuong, head of the Sapa Culture and Information Board, farming tours will be developed as tourism products in Sapa Town in the coming time.

"A group of French students joined a farming tour to Muong Hoa Commune in late May," Vuong said. "They were extremely keen on this."

Foreign travellers are familiar with visiting villages, staying in homestays, and immersing themselves in the lives of local people. It's common to see foreigners harvesting rice or growing vegetables in Tra Que vegetable village in Hoi An. These activities have helped foreigners better understand Vietnamese culture and daily life.

Truong Thi Bich Ngoc, lecturer in the Faculty of Tourism and Commerce of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said that Vietnam has many traditional agricultural, forestry and fishery villages, which is an advantage for farming tourism.

In Sapa, visitors can see majestic natural scenery and experience farming life. In Moc Chau in Son La Province, they can enjoy drawing with beeswax on fabric. In the Mekong Delta, tourists can plant rice, catch fish in drained ponds, and grow vegetables, Ngoc added.

Bui Thanh Tu, Marketing Director of BestPrice Travel Company, said many tourists expressed excitement and a desire to visit traditional craft villages. Travel firms and localities should co-operate closely to develop this service.
