4. Strong support by the public for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s policies encouraging the removal of stone statues of strange animals and replacing them with more "traditional" objects.
5. An event, “Vietnamese ethnic groups in the building and protection of Motherland”, at the Village of Vietnamese ethnic groups’s Culture and Tourism, with several activities directed toward the sea and islands, affirming the sacred and inviolable sovereignty of Vietnam over its territorial waters.
6. Excellent achievements at the second Asian Paragames at Incheon in South Korea in October, in which Vietnam emerged tenth out of 43 participating countries.

7. Organisation of the seventh national gymnastics and sports games, with participation by 65 cities, provinces and industries, where 57 national records and 158 games' records were broken.
8. World record for shooter Hoang Xuan Vinh in 10-metre gun shooting, with a score of 202.8 at the world gun shooting cup held in HCM City in March.
9. Tourism and services revenues at VND230tr (USD10.92m), up 15 percent on the previous year and the highest ever.
