The 2026 My Hoa International Kitesurfing Tournament will take place at My Hoa Beach in Vinh Hai Commune and is expected to attract about 200 riders from across Vietnam and overseas.
Athletes will compete in four categories, including racing for men and women, and big air events featuring high jumps and kite loops for both genders.
Beyond competition, the event will include kitesurfing experience sessions with professional athletes, music and dance performances, and stalls showcasing kitesurfing equipment as well as local food and specialties.
Nguyen Tuan Thanh, deputy director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the tournament is expected to position My Hoa Beach as an international kitesurfing destination.
Nguyen Long Bien, permanent vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said Khanh Hoa is among the few localities with geographical advantages and favourable climate conditions for large scale kitesurfing, particularly international events.
He added that the tournament is a significant sports and tourism event that helps diversify sea tourism products and strengthen the province’s beach sports brand.
The 2026 My Hoa International Kitesurfing Tournament is part of a broader calendar of cultural, tourism and sports events in Khanh Hoa in 2026, including the Nha Trang Sea Festival, a sea culture and tourism festival, the yen bird’s nest festival, and a grape and wine festival.
Vinh Hai Commune, established on July 1, 2025 through the merger of Vinh Hai, Nhon Hai and Thanh Hai communes, features a landscape of sea, hills and plains, offering strong potential for eco tourism and coastal development.
The area lies along key coastal routes and serves as a strategic link in the provincial tourism network, with attractions such as Vinh Hy Bay, vineyards, streams and access to parts of Nui Chua National Park.
Khanh Hoa aims to attract 18 million visitors in 2026, including six million international tourists, with tourism revenue projected at VND 77 trillion (approximately USD 3.1 billion).
In 2025, the province welcomed 16.4 million visitors, up 14.4 per cent year on year, including 5.5 million international arrivals. Tourism revenue reached VND 66.7 trillion (approximately USD 2.7 billion), an increase of 16.8 per cent.
