Set up near Ham Nghi Courtyard and Thuong Tu Gate inside the Hue Imperial City, the display stands out against the citadel’s ancient architecture, adding a striking contemporary accent to this year’s festive decorations.

Arranged in layered formations resembling lotus petals, the installation stretches across the area near the Quoc Tu Giam, with thousands of colourful pots carefully positioned to maintain visual balance from all viewing angles.

From early morning, local residents have gathered to admire the display and take photographs. The atmosphere has remained calm and orderly, reflecting the former imperial capital’s unhurried pace of life.

Foreign tourists have also been drawn to the site, many praising the harmonious blend of floral art and heritage space.

Workers are continuing to complete final details to ensure the lotus retains its vibrancy throughout the Tet holiday.

The installation forms part of the “Tet Phu Xuan-Flavours of the imperial capital” programme, which features a range of cultural activities including lotus seed sweets, lotus tea tastings, traditional folk games and community events.

The 2026 programme runs from February 2 to February 8 and spans several locations across the city, from Thuong Bac Park to the Quoc Tu Giam area, Ham Nghi Courtyard and August 23 Street, contributing to a festive spring atmosphere rooted in local identity.
