The Hue City Department of Culture and Sports has been tasked with coordinating with commune level authorities and relevant units to review and assess all traditional boat racing activities planned in the coming months.
Local administrations and functional agencies have been instructed to clearly distinguish between licensed races and events organised spontaneously without legal approval.
The department will also guide localities in complying with regulatory procedures and licensing requirements, while intensifying inspections to promptly detect and strictly penalise so called underground boat races.
