Top Vietnamese artists, films and social phenomena that have been most searched by local internet users were announced in a newly-released report from Google.

Phuong My Chi
Phuong My Chi, who won The Voice Kids has been most searched by Vietnamese Internet users over the past year.
The keyword “be Xuan Mai” or Baby Xuan Mai, was the second most popular search even though the singer has been popular in the country since she was a little girl over a decade ago.
Ngoc Trinh, a model whose career has been riddled with scandal, was the third most searched, while singers Le Quyen and Cam Ly respectively ranked the fourth and the fifth in terms.

Wanbi Tuan Anh
Wanbi Tuan Anh was the most searched male singer in 2013. The young singer died at the age of 26 in June from a brain tumour.
The second most searched young male singer was Ho Quang Hieu, while popular pop singer Dam Vinh Hung was third. Singers Duong Ngoc Thai and Khanh Phuong were respectively the fourth and the fifth most searched.

A scene in “My Nhan Ke”
“My Nhan Ke” or “Beauty trap”, by director Nguyen Quang Dung, was the most searched film. It starred several popular models and artists, including Thanh Hang, Tang Thanh Ha, Ngoc Quyen and Diem My. It was followed by several Hollywood films like Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Harry Potter and Titanic.

The Heirs, a South Korean film most searched by Vietnamese Internet users
Several South Korean films were very widely searched for, while a Vietnamese film “Bui Doi” or Street-urchin was the third most searched for.
Doraemon, Tom and Jerry, Oggy and the Cockroaches, Polemon and Nu-Pogodi were the most searched cartoons.

Gangnam Style was the most searched social phenomenon during the year, while “Ba Tung”, a nickname of a young woman Le Thi Huyen Anh who posted several sexually provocative clips and photos was the second most searched case.

While “selfie” seems to be popular among international users of social networks, “Forever Alone” was the most popular keyword among Vietnamese. The keyword was used with an aim of saying that the user is single.
“V-logger” was also popular among social network communities in Vietnam over the past year.
