The event, organised by the city government on February 6, will see Ho Chi Minh City leaders meet overseas Vietnamese, brief them on policies related to the Vietnamese community abroad, and outline key socio-economic results and development orientations for 2026 and subsequent years. Participants will also be updated on the outcomes of the first Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term.

Discussions will focus on mobilising overseas Vietnamese resources, including consolidating policy recommendations and translating experience and knowledge into practical solutions to support development.
Delegates will take part in traditional Tet cultural activities and performances, and visit exhibition booths showcasing products from businesses run by overseas Vietnamese and local enterprises.
Alongside the main programme, the city will organise local connection activities on February 5 and 6 for 50 outstanding overseas Vietnamese representatives. These include site visits, investment networking, and tours of next-generation industrial infrastructure and innovation ecosystems, linked to a conference themed “Outstanding overseas Vietnamese accompanying the city’s green transition in the digital era”.
The overseas Vietnamese delegation will lay flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh with city leaders and attend forums proposing solutions to better integrate overseas Vietnamese resources into the city’s dual transition strategy, alongside discussions on special mechanisms to promote rapid and sustainable economic growth.
The programme will also feature an exhibition highlighting notable contributions by overseas Vietnamese to the city and the country.
