A woman in Hai Duong Province is calling for financial support to help her treat her face and support her ill father.
Tran Thi Men hopes to have her face changed
Tran Thi Men's mother and brother died long ago, so her father is Men's only anchor in life. Men was born with a deformed face since birth. One of her eye is deformed and drags half of her face downward.
"Because of my face, I couldn't find work anywhere. I’ve even called me names," Men said. "My father is 79 years old and he is sick all the time. He can hardly see anything anymore. He told me that he'd have to leave me soon, but I’m worried about how I live with this face."
Men takes care of her father
Men and her father depend wholly on small allowances for disabled people. Early this year, their house suddenly collapsed so their relatives subsidised the costs of building a new house for them.
Men said she went to hospital once and doctor confirmed that her face could be fixed. However, Men returned home because she didn't have enough money for treatment.
Men said, "It's my dream to have my face changed but I try not to think about it or I'll feel sad."
