A woman in Ha Nam Province is asking doctors to let her husband, who is suffering from severe oil burns, return home despite the danger of infection because they have run out of money to pay the mounting bills.

Nguyen Van Luyen has been in the National Institute of Burns for more than a month.
"We are farmers, but because there are not many fields left in our hometown, we often find part-time jobs at road construction to support the family," said Pham Thi Muon, Luyen's wife.
"Last month, my husband was going to add oil to asphalt mixture when he was surprised by a nearby fire and spilled the oil on himself."
Tran Thi Thu Hien, of the intensive care unit at the National Institute of Burns, said Luyen suffered burns to 39 percent of his body, 27 percent of his body with third and fourth degree burns. He has had three skin graft surgeries, but needs more.

"He showed some recovery but needs special care," Hien said.
However, Luyen and his wife want to end the treatment because they do not have health insurance and cannot borrow any more money.
Muon said the VND200m she borrowed previously had ben exhausted and Luyen's boss has not come to visit or help them.
Her oldest son has not been to school for more than a month so he can help Muon take care of Luyen.
"I want to go home," Luyen said. "My wife is exhausted and my children are suffering too. But if I can borrow more money, I'll continue treatment. I still want to work to support my children."
