The mother and daughter came to DTiNews on April 25 with only VND50,000 to their names. Nguyen Thi Oanh said in early 2013, her 15-year-old daughter, Nguyen Thi Yen, suddenly showed unusual symptoms. Her teeth bled. Shortly after she was diagnosed with leukemia, and the disease was in its advanced stages.

Over the past year, Yen has been staying at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion for the treatment; however, her condition has not improved.
She bleeds all over her body, which is covered with lesions, keeping her in constant pain. Some of the lesions have grown to the size of a bowl, and she has lost her hair because of the treatment.The mother has been trying to find ways to save her daughter with the stedfast belief that she will live. She has taken her to many hospitals, but, to date, the situation has become worse.

Doctor Nguyen Thuy Duong, from the National Hospital of National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, said that Yen has been undergoing treatment for more than a year at the hospital. However, the treatment is of little help because the cancer is so far advanced. Now, doctors are only trying to lengthen her life.
The mother is now in a hopeless state and she does not know where to turn to find help in saving her daughter. She also has two other children at home.
