Pagoda nuns encourage the students who reside there to study hard and join in extracurricular activities, such as sport and charity activities. Each time a university or college entrance exam is held, the pagoda provides accommodation and meals to hundreds of students free of charge.

Danh Dat Huynh, who has been living at the pagoda for nearly a year, said he likes the living conditions there, where there are rooms for reading and also more relaxing activities like watching a bit of television at the end of the day.

Huynh shares one room with seven other students from surrounding provinces.
