A poor couple in Bac Ninh Province is in desperate need of financial help to support three small children, as the mother is in the final stages of cancer.

Doan Thi Diem and Nguyen Van Vien live in Yen Phong District. Diem has just given birth to a son, her third child, and is the final stages of cancer. Her first two daughters are aged two and a half and 16 months.
The turmour appeared about a year ago, when she was still pregnant with the third child, so doctors could not treat her. She decided to suffer through the disease until she could give birth. In her 7th month, however, her condition deteriorated and had to have a caesarean section. The baby remains weak after a premature birth.
The couple is seeking the community support
Her face has become so swollen and distorted to the point that she prefers to hide it from others, even her children.
Mrs. Diem’s husband, Nguyen Van Vien, is powerless to save his wife. His contribution is to take care of the children so his wife can rest. However, this makes it impossible for him to work, putting the family in financial straits.
Now the family must grapple with the idea of living without a wife and mother.
