DTiNews-readers have sent over VND50 million (USD2,380) in support for a Khmer man from Soc Trang Province with limb deformities.
Family receives donations
After Lam Van Sang's story was published, his family received many responses asking about the state of his health. A large number of readers sent gifts via post. Some even made visits to his home.
"I didn't know so many people would be willing to help. I'd like to say thank you everyone," said Sang's father. Recently, a group of doctors also went to Sang's home to diagnose him and suggest treatment.
DTiNews and leaders of Vinh Hai Commune People's Committee gave VND50,180,000 to Sang. The chairman of Vinh Hai Commune, Hoang Van Huong, said after a discussion with Sang's family, that part of the donation would be used to fix their home and to buy livestock in order to increase the family's income in the long-term. The rest will be spent on Sang's treatment. Huong also expressed his gratitude to towards the kind donors.

Lam Van Sang, 28, has been bedridden for seven years and his condition is yet to be diagnosed. Sang's father said that the illness came on suddenly. Soon after, his body broke out in rash and his nails became infected.
Those who have donated to Sang have made a positive difference in his life.
