A M'nong ethnic woman in Dak Lak Province is in need of help to treat heart disease and keep her children in school.

H Biem Hlong found out that she had heart disease four years ago. Since then, her health has worsened and she can no longer work.
Hlong's family income depends solely on their farm and her husband. A bountiful year can bring in a maximum of VND12 million (USD545).
As her oldest child is in 11th grade and the youngest is in 4th grade and they hope that all five of her children remain in school. Her husband had to borrow over VND60 million for her treatment and their children’s school fees. "We want our children to study so they can escape the poverty we’ve suffered," she said.

In September, Hlong suddenly collapsed and was transferred to HCM City's Cho Ray Hospital as her condition worsened.
Dr. Le Thanh Khanh Van said, "She has mitral stenosis, thrombotic and pulmonary aterial hypertension. Her condition is severe. She needs surgery as soon as possible or she could die."
The operation cost VND80 million so Hlong's husband sold parts of their farm land. However, they could only earn VND20 million. Because they already have a huge debt, they no longer have access to new credit.
"I'm not afraid of dying but what will happen to my children and their studies?" Hlong said.
