A father who lost his son to bone cancer and is fighting his own lung cancer, and who has been unable to sell his house to pay crushing medical bills because it is now associated with bad luck, has received VND414m from generous DTiNews readers.

Than Van Ba, in Phu Tho Province, recently lost his son to bone cancer, while battling his own cancer.
The family had spent all its savings on medical bills and borrowed heavily to pay for hospital treatment for the boy, who died just a week after DTiNews published a story on their plight.
Ba is no longer able to work, leaving his wife the sole breadwinner.
