At the ground-breaking ceremony
Minh Xuan Commune in Yen Bai's Luc Yen District was among the hardest-hit localities by flash floods and landslides triggered by the Typhoon Yagi. Ten people were killed and many houses were damaged in the natural disaster.
After Dantri/Dtinews called for support from readers to help rebuild houses for flood-hit victims in some northern localities including Yen Bai, many people have sent donations for the charity housing project.
Each family is given VND100 million to build their new house.
Hoang Thi Mung, 72, was among the four cases that received donations to build a new house from Dantri. Mung lost three family members in the flood. She is now living in a temporary tent set up by the roadside with her children.
Hoang Son Hai also lost his mother, wife and a son when his house collapsed in a landslide.
The family of Hoang Thi Tham, 71, is facing financial difficulties when her son has mental problems and husband suffers from a stroke. Their house was also destroyed by the flood.
