Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony held on February 12, vice chairman of An Thanh Dong Commune People's Committee, Tran Van Minh, sent his sincere thanks to Dantri and all the kind donors for having sent the financial support to the two families.

Minh shared that Hien's family will also receive VND60 million from the government's fund to build her house.

"We are a poor community and many other families are also facing financial difficulties," the official said. "We hope to receive further support from kind donors to improve their lives."

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has asked organisations and individuals to build 100 new houses for disadvantaged families nationwide between 2024 and 2025.

As a ministry publication, Dantri Newspaper has begun a campaign to build the houses with financial support from the newspaper's readers and donors. Each family will receive at least VND50 million.

As of January 13, 2025, Dantri had constructed 78 houses, 66 of which had been completed.
