Nguyen Huy Hoang Phat, chairman of Hoang Phat Fruits Ltd. Co., noted that the company had seen a 10-15 percent rise in fruit exports to Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Vegetable and Fruit Association, expects the country to witness an on-year increase of 15-20 percent in the value of fruit and vegetable exports this year, with durian exports alone accounting for USD 3.5 billion.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien stated that medicinal herbs, coconuts, frozen fruits, and watermelons would be exported to China through official channels in the coming time.
