Authorities in Danang have planned to rebuild Son Tra Night Market at a new site, aiming to turn it into a vibrant tourist destination.

However, congestion often occurs around the night market next to Dragon Bridge, particularly during weekends or festivals. Therefore, the Son Tra District People's Committee has decided to move it to a new location.

Originally set to close on July 1, the market's closure has now been postponed until December 31 of this year so that local authorities would have more time to secure a new location.

According to Hoang Son Tra, chairman of the district People’s Committee, after gathering public opinions, the committee agreed to relocate the market to the area opposite to the current one, while remaining near the Dragon Bridge.

A representative from the market’s investor said that around VND6 billion (USD240,000) would be spent on the new market construction.

The stalls will be rearranged more efficiently, along with the construction of a drainage system, environmental sanitation facilities, public restrooms, parking lots, and a fire prevention system. The new night market is expected to become a unique nighttime tourist attraction for the city.
