Hundreds of visitors attended the inauguration ceremony of the project to upgrade Tong Duy Tan Night Food Street on January 10.

According to Nguyen Tien Trung, Head of the Economic Department of Hoan Kiem District, before the project was launched, business activities in Tong Duy Tan lacked professionalism. Many vendors operated without clear direction. The environment was poorly managed, with significant waste and food safety issues. The street's business model was disorganised, and its unique culinary identity was not fully highlighted.

The restoration project focuses on upgrading the entire roadway and pavements with natural stone, installing modern lighting, and adding tourist signage. All businesses on the street have been transformed into a food-focused model. Additionally, as many as 30 establishments have been renovated with standardised façades.

Tong Duy Tan Street, also known as Hang Bong Alley, was among the earliest established areas, dating back to 1873.

More than 300 lanterns are being hung on the street.

A bronze statue of a street vendor selling pho has been erected on the street, becoming a popular check-in spot.
