A Hanoi People’s Committee representative told Dantri/DTiNews that the city held a meeting to review the renovation plan for Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square. During the meeting, delegates approved the proposal to demolish the Shark Jaw Building and construct an underground space beneath the existing square and the expanded area following the building’s removal.

He added that relevant agencies would consider setting up a stage and stands at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and its nearby streets.

Regarding public concerns about trees in the area, he highlighted that the city will have a suitable plan for arranging and preserving them.

Hanoi has directed Hoan Kiem District to work with relevant agencies to develop a dedicated design plan for the square and surrounding streets.
