According to the vessel’s itinerary, international visitors explored several of Phu Quoc’s famous attractions, including Sunset Town, the Hon Thom Cable Car, Grand World Phu Quoc, and many other scenic spots.
The Italian-flagged cruise ship then departed Phu Quoc on February 20 afternoon, continuing its journey.
According to the provincial Tourism Department, Phu Quoc hosted over 130,000 Chinese visitors and more than 25,000 Thai travelers in 2024.
Most notably, from February 14 to 20, the island welcomed three five-star cruise ships carrying nearly 9,000 international visitors, including those from Thailand, China, India, Germany, and Spain.
Bui Quoc Thai, director of the provincial Department of Tourism, said that the locality will continue to organise promotional campaigns in major markets such as China, India, and Thailand to popularize the island's renowned tourist destinations.
As Vietnam's largest island, last year saw Phu Quoc voted as the world's second most beautiful island in the world, behind only the Maldives, by readers of Travel+Leisure at the magazine's World's Best Awards.
