Since early September, many cafés in HCM City, including those in Binh Hoa, Dong Hung Thuan, Phu Nhuan and Binh Loi Trung, have donned striking Mid-Autumn decorations, becoming popular spots for young people.

Young people are checking in early to enjoy Mid-Autumn comfortably and capture unique photos without the holiday crowds.

To attract customers, many cafés have decorated their spaces with lanterns, drums and lion heads, creating a fairy-tale setting. The decorations not only make for beautiful photos but also bring the warm atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

A café owner in Binh Loi Trung Ward said the Mid-Autumn setup started in late August and was finished in just over a week.

Young people flock to cafés from as early as 2 pm, but crowds peak between 6 and 9 pm, with weekends leaving no empty seats.

Many young people hire photographers or bring professional cameras, planning ahead and spending hours arranging each shot. Their effort shows how the younger generation values and preserves the Mid-Autumn spirit through carefully crafted, emotional photos.
Many coffee shops offer traditional costume and accessory rentals, saving customers time and helping them quickly achieve the perfect festive look.
“Early Mid-Autumn gatherings give us both pretty photos and a reason to meet up. After school or work, being with friends and family, taking pictures and chatting makes me feel refreshed,” said Ai Vy, 20.
