37-year-old Le Van Hung from Thanh Hoa Province bought a ticket for a flight from Thanh Hoa to HCM City. The plane was supposed to take off at 8.55 pm on June 1.

However, when the airport staff asked him to start the screening procedure, he didn't follow the instructions. When the instructions were repeated, he became aggressive and knocked a security guard to the floor. When he was held by other guards, he continued to struggle and attack other staff.

According to the authorities, Hung might have been under the influence of alcohol at the time.

On June 6, head of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Dinh Viet Thanh signed a decision to ban Hung from flying for 12 months starting from June 6 to June 5, 2020. For the following 12 months after the ban, Hung will be subjected to physical examination at airports.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has asked local and foreign airlines to stop providing services to Hung during the required time. The airports were asked to check Hung's personal papers to prevent him from flying.
