According to a representative from Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR), the incident occurred on the SE6 train, which departed from Saigon Station on May 13 and arrived at Danang Station at 10.40 am on the following day.
While tidying up Carriage 10, an attendant discovered a worn brown leather handbag left on Berth 29.

He then reported the incident to the chief conductor, security personnel, and concerned units. Upon inspection, the handbag contained 141 banknotes of VND500,000, eight 100-dollar bills, six 10-dollar bills, and six 2-dollar bills among other items worth roughly VND100 million (about USD3,855).
Following the ticket information in the system, VNR identified the passenger and returned her belongings at Hue Station.
The VNR representative noted that staff members return lost property to an average of 10 passengers per month.
VNR advises passengers to contact railway staff or the station quickly if they forget belongings on trains, so attendants can help locate them.
