According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), Bamboo Airways recorded the highest rate of on-time performance flights with 96.4%; followed by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines with 94%; budget carrier VietJet Air with 92.4%.

During the period, domestic airlines operated 84,431 flights, representing an on-year rise of 7.5%. Of the figure, Vietnam Airlines topped with 30,070 flights, up 5.9% on-year. The runners-up were VietJet Air with 29,202 flights; Bamboo Airways with 15,979 flights; Jetstar Pacific with 5,679 flights and VASCO with 2,361 flights.
With the figure of 15,979 flights during the phase, Bamboo Airways posted the highest on-year growth of up to 58.7%. Meanwhile, VietJet Air, Jetstar Pacific and Vasco all saw the on-year fall.
Newly-opened Vietravel conducted 1,140 flights between January and April.
The Vietnamese aviation market saw robust growth in the number of domestic passengers during the Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day holiday. However, the country has since faced a new Covid-19 outbreak, causing passenger numbers to fall of 35% for Vietnamese airlines.
