Deputy PM Pham Gia Khiem recently agreed to financially assist the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to host the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2010 (ASEAN BIS 2010).
ASEAN-BIS is a forum for the public-private coordination in putting forth favorable conditions and ASEAN economic initiatives, channeling the private sector to ASEAN’s economic activities which were approved by the bloc’s leaders at the 7th ASEAN Summit in 2001.
ASEAN-BIS 2010 is expected to take place on October 27-29 in Hanoi, attracting the participation of ASEAN leaders and entrepreneurs from ASEAN and other countries.
The Deputy PM also gave a permission for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) to work with the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality to organize an international conference on national initiatives in promoting international trade for legal timber in November.
The MARD is responsible for working with relevant ministries and agencies and the Dutch side to successfully host the event.
