The SE7/SE8 trains have been officially suspended on the Hanoi-HCM City route since today, August 25. The move followed instructions of the prime minister and the Ministry of Transport to ensure safety for passengers amid Covid-19.

Trains sterilised for Covid-19 prevention in Vietnam
Passengers who bought the tickets on the route can be refunded or their tickets will be reserved as regulated. For localities that have not imposed social distancing regulations, passengers can get a refund online or at local railway stations.
However, the railway sector continues to operate trains to transport Covid-19-affected people to return home based on the demand of management agencies and localities.
Freight services are also being maintained as normal.
Since early July, Vietnam Railway has run five trains carrying 2,500 people from HCM City and other southern localities to their home in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue.
