The incident occurred at 9.40 pm on July 26 aboard SE2 as the train was travelling from Bien Hoa to Long Khanh.
Train attendant Dinh Xuan Hieu noticed passenger Tran Van Sy, from Ninh Binh Province, showing signs of severe illness and immediately alerted chief conductor Nguyen Truong Tho.
After reaching the passenger, the train crew found him unconscious with a weak pulse and symptoms consistent with a stroke. They began first aid and made announcements throughout the train seeking assistance from any passengers with medical expertise.
The crew also contacted the railway operations centre to request an unscheduled stop at Long Khanh Station, concluding the passenger could not wait until the next scheduled stop.
The train arrived at Long Khanh Station at 9.50 pm, about 10 minutes after the passenger was first found in distress.
The passenger and two accompanying family members were handed over to station staff and emergency medical personnel for transfer to a nearby hospital. Railway staff also arranged ticket refunds and assisted with the family's luggage.
