Among the new cases, 23 were imported with the majority being Vietnamese crew members from a cargo ship named Phuong Nam 1 returning home from India and 41 were domestic infections.
Covid-19 testing in HCM City
Of the cases from abroad, 15 are in HCM City, seven in Ba Ria-Vung Tau and one in Long An. Meanwhile, the domestic patients who have been all put under quarantine with 24 in Bac Giang and 17 in Bac Ninh.
By 6 am on Wednesday, Vietnam recorded a total of 9,200 Covid-19 patients, including 7,614 domestic cases. The number of new infections from April 27 reached 6,044 cases.
The provinces of Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Dak Lak, Nam Dinh, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Son La, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa have seen no Covid-19 patients over the past 14 days.
Around 3,549 Covid-19 cases in Vietnam have been discharged from hospital for their full recovery. There have been 55 deaths.
