37 more Covid-19 infection cases have just been announced, raising the total number of patients in Vietnam to 1,948, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday morning.

According to the ministry's report, all of the newly found patients were workers at an industrial zone in Hai Duong Province's Chi Linh City. They have been quarantined since the virus outbreak occurred in the area.
The workers tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the second testing on February 3.
The new virus outbreak has so far spread to ten provinces and cities including Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Gia Lai, Hoa Binh, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City.
With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 1,948, including 1,059 locally-transmitted cases with 366 cases reported since the new outbreak started in Hai Duong on January 28.
As of 6 am on February 4, a total of 1,461 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.
At present, as many as 48,829 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
