The cases from abroad were reported in Thanh Hoa, Long An and Kien Giang. Meanwhile, among the 170 locally-transmitted patients, HCM City accounted for 151, Phu Yen (10), Hung Yen (3), Long An (2), Tra Vinh (1), Hai Phong (1), Bac Giang (1) and Bac Ninh (1). Among those, 143 were detected in quarantined or locked down areas.
Up to 24 cases in HCM City are still under epidemic investigations to identify the origin of infection.
As of 12 pm on Friday, Vietnam logged a total of 17,902 Covid-19 patients, including 16,075 locally-infected diseases.
At present, 234,066 are being quarantined, including 2,157 at hospitals and the others at quarantine sites or homes.
