Vietnamese teenager Nguyen Thi Anh Vien proved her talent at the ongoing Southeast Asian Swimming Championships in Singapore with a performance in the pool that bolstered her chances of qualifying for the coming Olympic Games.

Vien then added a second gold medal when she won the women's 200m individual medley in a time of 2:17.67.
The teenage swimmer, who turns 16 in November, has seen several successes at international competitions recently, clocking a time of 2:15.15 in the 200m backstroke at the recent USA Swimming Series' Indianapolis Grand Prix.
At the 36th Southeast Asian Age Groups Swimming Championships which wrapped up in Palembang, Indonesia early this month. Vien bagged four gold, five silver and two bronze medals in the 15-17 age group.
Vien is the second Vietnamese swimmer to pass the Olympic B standard, which might allow her to take part in the London Games next month.
Da Nang City-based Hoang Quy Phuoc is currently the swimmer first in line for an Olympic men's 100m butterfly ticket.
