Many drivers are stopped by the traffic police for being checked on May 15 in Hanoi

Traffic police officers are authorised to implement unexpected checks even if drivers have sufficient driving documents and do not violate traffic laws.

Drivers will be penalised if found under the influence of alcohol or drugs, carrying too many passengers, transporting illegal products or breaking any traffic regulations.

Teams will patrol 24 hours a day for the work.

Earlier this morning, Hanoi traffic police were divided into into different groups of 4-6 people to check local roads.

This is the second vehicle investigation campaign across the country so far this year.
