The vehicle disguised as a vegetable truck was stopped by the police while travelling from Khanh Hoa to Dak Lak. A closer inspection revealed it was transporting sick pigs hidden beneath the produce.

The truck was found carrying 97 pigs, including two dead, with the rest showing signs of seizures, foaming at the mouth, and skin haemorrhages.
The driver, identified as Truong Quoc Doan, 29, from HCM City, failed to provide documents verifying the origin of the pigs.
He claimed he was hired to transport the pigs from Lam Dong to Dak Lak to sell.
The traffic police transferred the truck and pigs to the Dak Lak Sub-Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services for proper handling. Test results confirmed that all 97 pigs were infected with African swine fever.
