A tropical depression has been forecasted to hit the southern central region of Vietnam

The tropical depression is predicted to be 300 kilometres from Khanh Hoa and 280 kilometres from Ninh Thuan at around 4 pm today, October 26. In the next 24 hours, it would move in a west-northwest direction at a speed of 10 kilometres, hitting localities from Khanh Hoa to Binh Thuan.

Due to the tropical depression, coastal areas from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and from Binh Dinh to Ninh Thuan would see strong winds and rough seas.

On October 26-27, localities from Thua Thien-Hue to Binh Thuan, the Central Highlands and south-eastern region would face heavy rains with the average rainfall of 100-200 mm. The figure would be over 300 mm in some areas.
