According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10 am on July 26, Storm Noul, was centred over inland areas in southern Guangdong Province, China. The strongest winds near the storm's centre reached force 10, or 89-102kph, with gusts up to force 13, down three levels from the morning of the same day.
The storm was moving north-north-west, having changed course from due north earlier in the day, at about 10kph.
By 10 pm the same day, the storm is forecast to remain over inland Guangdong Province, moving north-north-west at around 15kph.
As it moves further inland, the storm is expected to continue weakening into a tropical depression, with maximum winds of force 6 and gusts up to force 8.

By 10 am on July 27, the tropical depression is expected to move north-north-west at 15-20kph into inland southern Hunan Province, China, before weakening into a low-pressure area with winds below force 6.
The meteorological agency said Storm Noul would weaken rapidly as it moved deeper inland over Guangdong Province, China, and was unlikely to have any direct impact on mainland Vietnam.
However, during the afternoon of July 26, northern waters of the North East Sea were still expected to see force 6-7 winds and waves of 2-4 metres. Areas near the storm's centre were forecast to experience force 8-9 winds, gusts of force 11-12 and waves of 3-5 metres, with very rough seas.
The meteorological agency warned that vessels operating in hazardous waters faced risks from thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds and high waves.
