According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, Storm Prapiroon lost its strength into a tropical depression on July 23 morning, bringing heavy rain to northern and north-central localities. Prapiroon is the second tropical storm to form in the East Sea and the first to hit the Vietnamese mainland this year.
