A tourist boat suddenly caught fire while being anchored on Ha Long Bay on Friday afternoon.

According to an initial investigation by local authorities, the incident occurred at 4 pm on September 27 when the Yen Ngoc 02 QN-6138 boat was anchored outside the Sung Sot Cave.
"Luckily at that time all 14 foreign tourists who had been aboard the boat had gone out to visit the cave," the report said.
The Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee sent a fire fighting boat and two canoes to the scene for rescue activities, and the fire was controlled by 5 pm. No injuries were reported.
Police are further investigating the cause of the fire.
