Local officials in Ham Kiem Commune confirmed the incident occurred at about 5 am on May 1, leaving one person dead.
According to initial reports, Le Dinh Hung, 32, an employee of Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company, was inspecting the Suoi Van-Ham Cuong rail section when he was hit by freight train HH7 travelling from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City.
The impact killed him at the scene.

Following the accident, the train was halted for about 30 minutes while authorities and railway officials documented the scene.
Lam Dong police are coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate the cause of the incident.
A similar accident was reported on February 7, about 15 km south of the site, when train SE2 struck and killed another track patrol worker.
