Top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has emerged victorious for the second time at the Rio Olympics, having defeated his Austrian rival David Obernosterer on August 13 at a Men’s Single Group E match-up.

Minh got off to a slow start in the initial minutes of the first set, but settled down and came back to squeak by 21-18.
In the second set, Minh, having regained his momentum, sailed to a 21-14 win, sealing the victory in two sets 2-0 after 49 minutes of play.
Minh next faces tough opponent Lin Dan on August 14 to earn a berth at the quarterfinals.
