Three students from Nigeria, one of the four countries with verified cases of the Ebola virus recently, have entered Vietnam and remain under close observation by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health.

Two of them entered Vietnam on August 8, and the other on July 31 to complete entry procedures for their studies at FPT University in Hanoi.
On August 14, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long personally examined the students. According to the deputy minister, their conditions appear to be normal.
Long also instructed the Hanoi Department of Health and FPT University to cooperate in the continued supervision of the students as well as other visitors from countries where Ebola has broken out.
The Ministry of Health advised people returning to Vietnam from countries with current Ebola cases to inform their local health agencies of their condition and seek medical examination.
The Hanoi Department of Health has also set up two hotlines to disseminate information about Ebola: 0969.082.115 and 094.9396115.
Statistics from the World Health Organisation (WHO) showed that, as of August 11, 1,975 people in Africa were infected with the virus, leaving 1,069 deaths so far.
There have, to date, been no reports of Ebola cases in Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Health.
