The children who are Giap Thi Phuong Thanh, 11; Giap Van bac, 9 and Giap Van Duy, 8 are now staying with his paternal grandfather Giap Van Tri in Gia Tien Village, Tan Trung Commune, Tan Yen District.

Luong Thi Quyen, deputy head of the village, said that after a divorce, the children’s parents left them. Since then, they have been living with their grandfather and their uncle Giap Van Hoi who has some mental problems.
The children are familiar with their uncle and know how to respond if chased by him.
Tri said that Thanh and Duy are the children of his eldest son who divorced with his wife three years ago. Since then the mother has not contacted the children. Their father went away from home to earn money, but since early last year, Tri has lost his contact.
Duy has experienced heart disease and now he is still using medicines.
Bac is the child of Tri’s second son whose marriage broke up in 2018.
Tri has been trying his best to ensure that they can go to school as other children.
