According to Le Hong Son, deputy head of Nha Trang Province’s railway transportation branch, heavy rains resulted from the typhoon caused erosion at several sections of the North-South railway route running through Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa provinces. As a result, nearly 2,500 passengers on nine trains on the route were left stranded.

Vehicles sent to transport stranded passengers
Son added that 13 vehicles were sent to transport the passengers to the next railway station from which they could catch trains, while the railway remained flooded.
Lots of passengers on the Hanoi to HCM City train were still trapped in Nha Trang on Sunday. The train arrived at Nha Trang City 9 am, but it had to stop there due to the eroded and flooded line.
Passengers had to wait for hours. At 2:30 pm, they were transported to Thap Cham Station in Ninh Thuan to continue their trip.

Khanh Son District in Khanh Hoa Provine seriously flooded by heavy rains
In Ninh Thuan, heavy rains and flooding washed away 100m of railway tracks. Another 700m of tracks were under more than a metre of water and all north-south trains have been halted.
In Khanh Hoa Province, a landslide down Cù Hin Hill was cleared and the road to Cam Ranh International Airport reopened to traffic.
Nha Trang officials relocated nearly 6,000 people to safe places and ordered 1,524 fishing boats to port. Only one boat was sunk.
By this morning, November 26, Storm Usagi had weakened into a tropical depression.
